Face Painting Competition:
RULES
1. Category
of students -Class IX to XII Only. Only two participants (Model and Painter)
are allowed to participate. The duration of the competition will be 2 Hours, i.e.
120 Minutes:
2. No part
of the design to be applied on the model’s face prior to the starting of the
time clock for
this
competition.
3. The model’s
hair shall not be used to enhance the design. Design must not extend past the
natural
hairline of
the model.
4. Design must
not extend down the neck or onto the chest, shoulder, or back area of the
model.
5. The hair
may be clipped or pinned back from the face to fully expose the design area.
6. Competitors
may use the following items:
- Only professional makeup (cosmetics) and
paint products made specifically for the skin including
metallic,
neon, and interference paints. Products may be applied wet or dry.
- Skin-safe adhesives & adhesive removers
- Paint brushes, make-up brushes, sponges,
sponge-tipped applicators, stylus (a tool that makes
“dots”).
The end of a paint brush may also be used to make dots.
- Glitter
in loose, gel, or liquid form (glitter must be polyester glitter only)
- Gemstones
(stones may have adhesive backing or be applied with skin-safe adhesive)
- Loose and
Pressed Powders, including Shimmer Powders, Feathers (to be used on the face
only, not in the hair).
Competitors
may not use at any rate:
1. Acrylic
paints and other commercial paints including tempera paint, craft paint,
textile paint,
airbrush
paint, etc.
2. An
airbrush system
3. Stencils
or stamps of any kind
4. Masks
over any part of the face
5. Prosthetic
pieces that are glued or taped to the face (i.e. fake cuts, scars, warts,
noses, etc.)
6. False
eyelashes, special effects contact lenses, novelty eyeglasses or sunglasses.
7. Regular prescription
eyeglasses or contact lenses will be allowed on the models and the artists.
Face
Painting Competition – Judgment Criteria
Judging
will take place immediately following the competition. Judges will not be allowed
in the competition room while the competition is taking place. Judges will not
be allowed to know who the competitors are or see them at work. Models are not
allowed to tell the judges who painted their design.
The four categories
under which judgment is based:
1.
Originality – 10 Points
2.
Creativity – 10 Points
3.
Difficulty of Design – 10 Points
4. Total
effects – 10 Points
Note: Any infraction or violation of the Competition Rules
will be subject to possible point reduction or disqualification at the
discretion of the Judges. Decision
of the judges shall be final and binding.
