Science
Exhibition
In order to develop scientific instinct among
the youth, the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) encourages implementation of
various curricular activities viz. organization of “Science Exhibition” at
school, block, tehsil, district, region and state levels. The vision of this activity
is to instill the spirit of enquiry and kindle yearning for exploration. The available
and augmented resources provide a working platform for children to express
themselves. The scientific instinct among the children begins at the school through
projects, materials and activities related to science. Our endeavour ever
remains to fulfill the following objectives:
• To provide a forum to nurture science and
inventive interest from the surrounding environment and connecting new ideas to
their existing ideas through experiential knowledge gained by involving in activities.
• To explore and encourage scientific and
technological talent and creative thinking among children and inculcate in them,
a sense of pride in their talent.
• To develop an understanding about the role of
science and technology to meet the needs of the society.
• To analyze how science and technology have
affected individuals, cultures, societies, etc. all over the world.
• To bring home the idea in the minds of the
youth that science and technology are the instruments for achieving self-reliance
in socio-economic development.
• To encourage them as budding architects of
the nation in the future and help them visualize future of the nation.
To meet the above objectives, Science
Exhibitions could be organized under the following broad-based themes:-
•
Environmental issues: causes and consequences of climatic change.
•
Biodiversity: Conservation and Sustenance.
• Life
sciences in support of human welfare.
•
Alternative energy (green energy or biofuel) as a substitute of hydrocarbon
energy.
• Robotics,
Electronics, Information and Communication Technology.
•
Mathematics-Physical Science and Sports.
• To
develop broad-based themes for futuristic need.
Judgement
